LED GreenLight International Receives California State Supplier Award and Contract from the University of California Office of the President

LED Lighting Manufacturer Recognized for Exceeding

New California MLC2 Lighting Quality Specification

SACRAMENTO, CA February 3rd – LED GreenLight International (LEDGLI) announced today that it has been awarded as a winner of the California Statewide RFP for the Million LED Challenge Phase 2, (MLC2) issued by the University of California Office of the President on behalf of the California Public Building Partners (consisting of the University of California System, California State University System, California Community College System, and the California Department of General Services).  This MLC2 5-year contract awarded to LEDGLI is also renewable for 5 years, in 1-year increments, to provide innovative, advanced, and highly energy efficient 96+ CRI LED lighting and advanced controls to California’s universities, schools, and public buildings.

California’s public buildings have historically purchased large quantities of lesser quality linear fluorescent lamps to equip their pendant, troffer, and accent light fixtures. Many recent lighting industry technology developments, including LED lighting innovations from LEDGLI, in combination with California’s leading regulatory environment and the UC Davis California Lighting Technology Center (CLTC), have contributed directly to the development of high-quality and high CRI LED light sources intended to replace all linear fluorescent lamps and light fixtures. These LED products have improved performance; including high color characteristics with exceptionally high efficiency (including high Green House Gas reductions), choices of advanced controls (including 3-step dimming, 0-10 volt dimming, and advanced Bluetooth Mesh controls) and at least 120,000 hours (in the case of LED GreenLight’s Lighting Products) of rated life.

Inspired by research at the CLTC and the lighting industry’s evolutionary process that resulted in these innovative products, the California Public Building Partners developed and launched a high visibility statewide program for the conversion of existing light sources in buildings through the MLC2 Program, with the clearly stated objective to promote the utilization of high efficiency, high color (high CRI) and high quality replacement linear T8 LED products, troffer retrofit kits and new troffer luminaires.

“We are extremely honored to be recognized by the State of California through the MLC2 Contract Award as a designer, manufacturer, and supplier throughout California of the most innovative, high quality and high CRI LED Lighting Products to California’s educational systems and public buildings”, said William ‘Bill’ McNamara, the Chief Operations Officer of LED GreenLight International.

The advanced LED Lighting and Controls Products that LEDGLI will be supplying throughout California through the MLC2 Program, include the Highest Quality High CRI T8 LED Linear Tubes, next generation Linear Troffer luminaires and Retrofit Troffer kits.  The LEDGLI Lighting Products also include the option for integrated Bluetooth Mesh Advanced Lighting Controls with Automated Demand Response (ADR) capabilities.
